Dr. Rhonda Schafer-McLean

Dr. Rhonda Schafer-McLean, MD, Ph.D., has been dedicated to women’s health in Bismarck since 2009, offering expert care in obstetrics, gynecology, surgery, and routine wellness. She provides compassionate, patient-centered services, from pregnancy care to in-office procedures like pap smears, biopsies, and IUD placements. Dr. Rhonda sees patients at Balance Medical and satellite clinics across North Dakota while also performing surgeries and deliveries at Sanford Health. More than a doctor, she’s a warm and trusted advocate for women, ensuring every patient feels heard and cared for. When she’s not in the clinic, she’s hosting gatherings, enjoying movie nights, or cruising the Missouri River on her one-of-a-kind pontoon, embracing life just as she encourages her patients to do.
Kristen Scholl
PA-C
Kristen Scholl, Certified Physician Assistant at Balance Medical, has 10 years of experience working in General, Bariatric, and Trauma Surgery. During this time she developed expertise in post-bariatric management, is one of only a few providers in the state trained to perform lap band adjustments, and specialized in medical weight loss management with the use of prescription medications. Kristen joined the team at Balance Medical in November 2023 and uses her expertise to continue providing comprehensive weight loss management for patients. Services include:
-Bariatric surgery maintenance services
-Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band Adjustments
-Medical Weight Loss with prescription medications (Phentermine, Contrave, Wegovy)
Utilizing her extensive procedural background and unique skill set, Kristen also provides medical aesthetic services through Balance Medical Skin.

Kammi Floberg
RN
Kammi was born and raised in Bismarck, North Dakota. She is a third-generation healthcare worker. She graduated from nursing school at Bismarck State College and received her Bachelor’s in nursing from Mayville State in 2019. Kammi’s professional experience includes specializing in Med/Surg and Oncology and becoming Chemotherapy certified in 2022. She works for Bismarck State College teaching CNA classes once a week to future aspiring healthcare professionals.
Kammi recently got married to her husband Spencer on New Year’s Eve in 2022. They have a beloved fur baby named Hattie who is their pride and joy. When Kammi is not working, she loves to spend time with her family. She enjoys attending concerts and supporting her husband who coaches the New Salem-Almont Holsteins.
Jessica Feist
RN
Jessica “Jess” Feist, RN stayed close to her roots, originally growing up in Bismarck. Her nursing career has a strong primary base of passion towards women’s healthcare across the entire lifespan.
Jess started her career on labor and delivery and eventually moved to full time clinic nursing in a women’s care facility. She has since been a stay-at-home mama with her two children. Jess really missed the realm of women’s health and OB, so you’ll now find her working at Balance Med and UND in her free time. As time allows, she also provides patient services as an L&D nurse.
Her focus through care is providing women comfortability in their own skin to take charge of their own health. She strives to educate patients effectively, so they are more self-aware.

When Jess isn’t at the clinic or hospital, you’ll find her coaching fitness classes at a local boutique studio and discovering as many adventures as possible with her two children and husband. They travel often from sandy beaches to snowy mountains and everything in between. Travel and adventure feed her soul! Her bubbly energy and enthusiastic personality will leave you with a smile on your face. Her hope is to make everyone feel welcome and heard.
Maddi Ahneman
RN/Aesthetic RN Injector
Maddi is a registered nurse at Balance Medical who works full-time as an aesthetic nurse and a woman's health nurse. she graduated from nursing school at UND in 2021 and started her career at an outpatient surgery center in Bismarck. She had multiple hands-on trainings on injectables, various lasers, and aesthetics. Maddi has always had a passion for helping people feel better about themselves and loves the opportunity she has to do that through aesthetics!
Outside of work, Maddi loves to spend time outside, on the river, and spending time with friends as much as possible! She LOVES animals!! She has a French bulldog named Tito and an English bulldog named Nerf, who she could talk about all day long to anyone willing to listen.
Riley McLean
Administration/CNA
Riley is a Bismarck/Mandan native who brings 5 years of experience to Dr. Schafer-McLean’s Team. Her passion lies in women’s health, assisting patients with their visits from start to finish.
Riley recently graduated from UND with degrees in Biology and Honors. With medical school on the horizon, Riley is excited to cultivate her patient care skills while learning from the best team around! She is an advocate for new members of the clinic and works to make everyone’s experience at Balance Medical EXCEPTIONAL!
Riley is passionate about fitness and teaches exercise classes at several local gyms. In her free time she enjoys riding horses, spending time in the country, and competing in local rodeos. She also loves being on the river, pontooning, paddle boarding, and kayaking.
Kendra
RN
Kendra was born and raised in Bismarck North Dakota. Growing up, Kendra's dream was always to become a nurse. She received her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from North Dakota State University in the summer of 2018.
Kendra comes from a strong nursing background in Neonatal Intensive Care. She has experience in mental health, addiction, and pediatric home care.
Kendra recently got married to her husband Dylan in the summer of 2025 in their favorite travel destination, Las Vegas, Nevada. When they aren’t traveling, they are staying busy with their four cats, Onyx, Cora, Meka and Milo.
